This Privacy Policy explains how Tolunsoft ("we", "us") handles information when you use the ShrinkClip app and related services at tolunsoft.my.id (the "Service"). ShrinkClip is a video utility app that lets you compress videos, cut/trim clips, and extract audio from videos. Most processing happens entirely on your device. An optional cloud mode (for stronger compression and for MP3 audio export) sends your video to our processing server only when you explicitly choose it. The app also shows ads via Google AdMob. We are committed to complying with the Google Play Developer Policies, Google AdMob policies, and applicable data-protection regulations including GDPR.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide
The ShrinkClip app does not require account creation or a login process. We (Tolunsoft) do not collect your name, password, email address, phone number, or any credentials on our servers.
b. Content you process (videos and audio)
How your content is handled depends on the feature you use:
- On-device features (default): Compress, Cut/Trim, and Extract Audio in M4A/AAC are processed locally on your device using Android's built-in media tools. The selected video does not leave your device for these features.
- Optional cloud features: if you choose "Maximum Compression (Cloud)" or export audio as MP3 (which Android cannot create on-device), the video you selected is sent to our processing server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to be processed and the result returned to your device. The app shows a clear confirmation before any upload.
For the optional cloud features, your file is processed transiently and is not stored permanently on our server — it is deleted after processing completes. Tolunsoft does not retain a copy of your videos or audio for any other purpose. We recommend that you do not upload videos containing highly sensitive or confidential information when using the cloud features.
c. Output files on your device
Processed files (compressed videos, trimmed clips, or extracted audio) are created in the app's storage on your device and, when you choose to save them, in your device's Movies/ShrinkClip or Music/ShrinkClip gallery folders. These files are under your control and can be shared or deleted at any time.
d. Information collected automatically
Tolunsoft itself does not collect usage data or analytics from this app. However, limited technical data may be processed by third-party providers (see Section 4) to serve ads.
- Basic device data: such as device type and operating-system version, to display compatible ads and maintain app performance.
- Advertising identifier: may be processed by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads (see Section 4).
- Local preferences: your choices such as the app language and settings are stored locally on your device using app storage.
2. Device Permissions & Why We Use Them
The app only requests permissions needed for its functionality:
- Internet (INTERNET): required to load and display ads via Google AdMob, and to send your video to our server only when you use an optional cloud feature.
- Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): used to check connectivity before loading ads or starting a cloud request.
- Foreground service / media processing (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROCESSING): used to keep a compression or audio-extraction task running reliably in the background while you use other apps, with an ongoing notification.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): used to show progress and to let you know when a background task is finished.
- Vibration (VIBRATE): used to give a short buzz when a task completes.
- Media/file access (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, only on Android 9 and older): used to save your finished files into the device gallery. On Android 10 and newer this is handled by the system without this permission.
Videos are selected through the Android system media picker (Photo Picker / Storage Access Framework), so the app only gains access to the file you specifically choose. The app does not request microphone, location, camera, contacts, SMS, call-log, or other sensitive permissions unrelated to its functionality.
3. How We Use Information
- Process the video or audio you provide — on your device for compression, cutting, and M4A/AAC extraction, or via our server only when you choose an optional cloud feature — to produce the output you request.
- Save and display the output on your device so you can play, share, or delete it.
- Store app preferences (such as language and settings) locally on your device.
- Serve and measure ads through a third-party provider (Google AdMob).
4. Third-Party Services
a. Cloud processing (Tolunsoft server)
The optional cloud features send your selected video to our own processing server at tolunsoft.my.id over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The file is used only to perform the conversion you requested and is deleted after processing; it is not shared with third parties and is not used for any other purpose. These features are opt-in — the on-device features do not use the server.
b. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app displays ads using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), including banner, native, interstitial (full-screen), and rewarded (optional, user-initiated) ad formats. To serve and measure ads, Google may process certain technical data such as advertising identifiers, IP address, and device type under its own policies. Google's use of data is governed by Google's policies:
Depending on your region and consent settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. In regions that require consent (e.g., EEA/UK), the app may display an ad-consent dialog as required by Google. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID and limit personalized ads through the privacy settings on your Android device.
Other than the above, the app does not embed any other third-party analytics SDK.
5. Information Sharing
We (Tolunsoft) do not sell your personal data. Videos sent through the optional cloud features are processed only on our server to run the feature you requested, and limited technical data is processed by Google AdMob to serve ads, as described in Section 4. We may disclose information where required by valid law. Beyond that, we do not share your data with any other third party.
6. Data Storage & Security
On-device processing means your videos for compression, cutting, and M4A/AAC extraction stay on your device. For the optional cloud features, transmission to our server is performed over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and uploaded files are deleted after processing. App preferences and output files are stored on your device, and their security depends on your own device-security measures (such as a screen lock and device encryption). No method of internet transmission is completely secure; while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Because the app has no account system on Tolunsoft's side, you can delete all of the app's local data (preferences and output files) at any time via Settings > Apps > ShrinkClip > Storage > Clear Data on your Android device, or by uninstalling the app. You can also delete saved files directly from your gallery, and manage personalized-ad preferences and your Advertising ID through the privacy settings on your Android device. 8. Children's Privacy
This app is intended for general adult/teen users as a video utility, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age required in your region. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can address it.
